Ericeira Review is an independent online platform for discovering and reviewing local businesses, people, and communities in Ericeira, Portugal. Users can browse listings across three categories — spots, people, and community — read and write reviews, claim and manage business listings, and subscribe to our newsletter.

We are not affiliated with Google, TripAdvisor, or any other third-party review platform. Some listing data may originate from Google Places and is clearly attributed.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the platform. To submit reviews, create listings, or claim a business, you need an account. You can sign up with email/password, Google OAuth, or GitHub OAuth.

You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and accept responsibility for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, misuse platform features, or act in violation of applicable law.

By posting content ("Content") on Ericeira Review — including reviews, ratings, listings, announcements, images, and profile information — you confirm that:

• It is based on your genuine experience and is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
• You own or have the right to publish it.
• It does not violate any law or third-party rights.

You agree not to post Content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, abusive, misleading, or spam.

Registered users can submit star ratings (1–5) and written reviews for any approved listing. Reviews are subject to approval before appearing publicly. You may edit your own reviews after submission.

Reviews should reflect honest, first-hand experience. We do not verify the identity of reviewers beyond account creation. Other users can mark reviews as "useful". Business owners with Verified status can respond to reviews publicly.

You may report reviews that violate our guidelines via the contact form. We reserve the right to remove reviews at our discretion.

Any registered user can submit a new listing (spot, person, or community). Submitted listings are pending approval and reviewed by our team before appearing publicly.

Listing information includes name, description, category, address, contact details, hours of operation, images, and tags. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any listing information. Users and visitors rely on listing information at their own discretion.

Business owners or their authorised representatives can claim a listing on Ericeira Review for free. Claiming links the listing to your user account and is verified manually by our team (typically within 1–2 business days). We may ask for proof of ownership such as a business email, website, or social media account.

Once approved, claimed listing owners receive:

• A manager dashboard with analytics (page views, clicks, traffic sources, devices).
• The ability to edit listing details (name, description, photos, hours, contact info).
• A dedicated profile page and owner badge.
• A shareable review request link.
• The ability to pin a featured review.

Ericeira Review reserves the right to reject, revoke, or reassign a claim if ownership cannot be verified or if the listing is misrepresented.

Ericeira Review offers three tiers for business owners:

Partnerships and collaborations are available on request across all tiers. Pricing and availability are subject to change. Payments are processed manually — no card details are stored on the platform. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Some Partner features (e.g. a single blog post, an editor's article) may also be available as one-time add-ons. Contact us for details.

Verified and Partner business owners can post announcements to their listing page and the site-wide announcements feed. Announcements may include a title, body text, a call-to-action link, and an expiry date.

Announcements must be truthful and relevant to the business. Ericeira Review may remove announcements that are misleading, spammy, or violate these terms.

Partner businesses may be featured in editorial content (blog posts, guides, newsletters) and on our Instagram account. Featured content is clearly labelled and curated by our editorial team.

We may review, remove, restrict, or edit Content at any time at our sole discretion, including (but not limited to) Content that:

• Appears fraudulent, fake, or incentivised.
• Violates these terms or community guidelines.
• Infringes third-party rights (copyright, trademark, privacy).
• Violates Portuguese or EU law.

We do not guarantee that all Content will be moderated before appearing on the platform. Listings, reviews, and accounts may be removed without prior notice.

We collect anonymised analytics to help business owners understand how their listings perform and to improve the platform. This includes:

• Page views: listing page visits, referrer domain, device type (mobile/tablet/desktop), and time spent on page.
• Click events: clicks on website links, phone numbers, email, WhatsApp, Instagram, directions, and share buttons.
• Session tracking: a temporary session identifier stored in your browser (cleared when you close the tab) to group views within a visit.

We also use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand site-wide traffic patterns. These services may set their own cookies in accordance with Google's privacy policy.

We do not sell analytics data. Listing analytics are visible only to the listing owner via their manager dashboard.

You can subscribe to our newsletter by providing your email address. We use your email solely to send updates about Ericeira Review, including new features, editorial content, and local recommendations. You can unsubscribe at any time by contacting us.

We do not share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.

Business owners can upload images (hero images and gallery photos) to their listings. Uploaded images are stored securely and may be resized and optimised for performance.

By uploading images, you confirm that you own the rights to those images or have permission to use them. You grant Ericeira Review the same license as described in the User-Generated Content section. We may remove images that violate these terms or are inappropriate.

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
• Post spam, fake reviews, or promotional content disguised as reviews.
• Submit fraudulent claims for listings you do not own or represent.
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate others.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract platform data without written permission.
• Attempt to bypass security measures, rate limits, or access controls.
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation.
• Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful code.
• Use the platform to collect personal information about other users without consent.

The platform's branding, design, editorial content, and underlying code are owned by Ericeira Review (or its licensors). The name "Ericeira Review", our logo, and visual identity are our trademarks.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute our materials without written permission, except as allowed by applicable law. User-generated Content remains the intellectual property of the user who created it, subject to the license granted in Section 3.

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ericeira Review is not liable for:

• User-generated Content, including reviews, ratings, and listing information.
• Business performance, service quality, or customer experience at any listed business.
• Inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in listings or reviews.
• Decisions made based on information found on the platform.
• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.
• Service interruptions, data loss, or security breaches beyond our reasonable control.

Content on the platform is for informational purposes only. We do not provide legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. Use of the platform is at your own risk.

We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

You have the right to access, rectify, delete, or port your personal data under applicable law. To exercise your rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.

We do not sell personal data. Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure within the EU. Third-party services (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager) may process data according to their own privacy policies.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

For material changes, we may notify users via the platform or email. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
