Terms of use
1. About the platform
Ericeira Review is an independent online platform for discovering and reviewing local businesses, people and communities in Ericeira, Portugal. Users can browse listings, read and write reviews, claim and manage business listings, post announcements and subscribe to updates.
We are not affiliated with Google, Tripadvisor or any other third-party review platform. Some listing data may originate from Google Places or other public sources and is attributed where applicable.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use account features. To submit reviews, create listings, claim a business or manage owner tools, you need an account.
You agree to provide accurate information, keep login credentials secure and accept responsibility for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the platform, violate these terms or break applicable law.
3. Reviews, listings and user content
By posting reviews, ratings, listings, announcements, images, replies, community posts or profile content, you confirm that the content is based on genuine experience, accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you have the right to publish it.
You grant Ericeira Review a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, distribute and create derivative works of your content for operating, improving, promoting and indexing the platform, including SEO, editorial guides, newsletters and social media.
Reviews should reflect honest first-hand experience. We may approve, reject, edit, restrict or remove content that appears fake, unlawful, defamatory, hateful, abusive, misleading, spammy, promotional in disguise or infringing on third-party rights.
4. Claims, owner tools and featured support
Business owners or authorised representatives can claim a listing for free. Claiming links the listing to your account and may require proof of ownership, such as a business email, website or social account.
Claimed owners may receive dashboard access, analytics, listing edits, owner badges, review replies, review request links, pinned reviews, announcements and related owner tools. We may reject, revoke or reassign a claim if ownership cannot be verified or if the listing is misrepresented.
Optional featured support, editorial placements, guide inclusions, partner collaborations and newsletter features are curated and subject to relevance, availability and editorial fit.
5. Prohibited use
- Do not post spam, fake reviews or promotional content disguised as reviews.
- Do not submit fraudulent claims for listings you do not own or represent.
- Do not harass, threaten, impersonate others or publish unlawful content.
- Do not scrape, crawl or extract platform data without written permission.
- Do not bypass security measures, rate limits or access controls.
- Do not upload malicious files, viruses or harmful code.
6. Intellectual property, disclaimer and liability
The platform branding, design, editorial content and underlying code are owned by Ericeira Review or its licensors. User-generated content remains the intellectual property of the user who created it, subject to the licence granted above.
The platform is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ericeira Review is not liable for user-generated content, business performance, service quality, inaccuracies, decisions made from platform information, service interruptions, data loss or indirect damages. Content is informational and does not replace legal, medical, financial or professional advice.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service, providers or legal requirements change. The latest update date appears at the top of this page. Continued use of Ericeira Review after updates means you accept the revised terms.
